“One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in yoga is the ability to see myself in everyone and everything. By seeing all as one it helps me to practice ahimsa which means non-harming. The kinder we are to ourselves it reflects in the way we treat others. For one week try saying only nice things to yourself and others. You’ll end the week feeling full of self-love and appreciation for the people you interacted with and the things that surround you.”

“My journey to health began in January of 2012 when my mother was diagnosed with stage IV gastric cancer. She decided against conventional medicine and was cured on the Gerson Therapy, a nutrition based cancer treatment alternative. My life completely changed from that point forward. I proceeded to eliminate all animal products from my diet and began a raw plant based lifestyle. I also realized the importance of my mental and emotional well-being and began a life-long journey with yoga. I haven’t been sick in over two years and have more energy than I ever had. My quality of life has improved drastically on this beautiful journey of mindful movement, breath and meditation along with fueling my body with the most nutritious foods available.”

“The body consciousness and mind-body connection that takes place while on my mat without a doubt helps me make more conscious, healthy and mindful food choices. Inevitably, after a session on my mat, I look for clean, healthy, mainly plant-based foods, which in turn keep my body clean and light. This then makes for a better experience on my mat the next day. It’s a wonderful cycle that repeats day after day. While I engage in a variety of physical activities; including, but not limited to, swimming and spinning, none provides the same calm, grounded feeling or the clarity of mind and body awareness that my yoga practice does. What I eat has an enormous effect on my overall sense of well-being and that time spent consistently on my mat helps support and maintain a cycle of making healthy food choices.”
